The Good Kind of Chaos
The first day back is so many things. It's exciting- new teachers, new students, new everything. It's scary- Will I have a good year? Will my classmates like me? Will the work be too hard? Above all, it's new.
As we get into the swing of the year we settle into our routines. But, until then- it's that good kind of chaos. I really wanted 40 minutes at the end of the day to get everything settled and wind . When I looked at the clock after our final lesson... about 10. I will say, it was a fantastic getting-to-know-each-other day. I couldn't be more impressed with how friendly the students were to each other.
It's great to be done with the first day. You shake off the cobwebs, get all of the nervous emotions out of the way, and begin to slide into the routines of the year. I hope all of the students come home excited for what tomorrow will bring. I can hardly wait.
