Instagram Your Reading!

Weekly Reading Contests
From what I can tell, a lot of you guys use Instagram, which is great. Just like it's fun to write when your friends leave you comments, the same applies to taking pictures. So, in both cases you're doing something fun and... oh no!...educational. What? Instagram educational? Yep, if you're always looking around for cool photographs to take and share, that means you're paying closer attention to the world around you. Which is a good thing.

So, I'm jumping into it. If you already have Instagram, here's what I recommend:
  1. Make your profile private
  2. Only follow people you know with one exception...
  3. If it's an athlete or a company you're familiar with, ask your parents to verify it's the official page.
You can follow me @145lewis but don't be offended that I won't be following you back. Here's why: I'm using Instragram with the purpose of sharing photos with students. You're probably not using it to share photos with your teacher, right?

Now, if you do want me to see a picture you've taken, you can always tag me in it!

So here's the contest: Grab a picture of your favorite graphic novel off line and post it to your account with the best 1-2 sentence advertisement for the book.  On Friday, one person will win this limited edition print from Sidekicks signed by Dan Santat

If you don't have Instagram, don't worry! you can always post your picture to your page on the writing site!
