It's that time of year again. As 2011 comes to a close, it's time to start reflecting on the best books of the year. Over 6,000 books are published each year for kids, some more memorable than others. In just a few short weeks, the American Library Association will host their annual winter meeting where they will award the most distinguished books the year. Sometimes those books stay with us for years and years, other times they fall from sight; sometimes they are the popular choices, other times obscure. To sum it up, how many people know what book won the Newbery Medal the year
Charlotte's Web received an honor?
I'll start with my personal favorites from this year in picture books, middle-grade fiction, and non-fiction (combined picture and chapter books). Below, you'll find a summary image of each lists' best books with a link to the complete list.
Happy Reading! There's a lot to look forward to in 2012.
